Thank you for visiting our website.
Unlike the many museums that teach about the holocaust and are situated in major cities around the world, the Wall of Tears Memorials are designed to be more versatile in that they can reside in more visual areas including city parks, university campuses and other places where they can be seen daily by individuals who might not be seeking out information from a museum.
In 2018, major studies in the United States showed an astounding lack of knowledge of the holocaust among millennials with two thirds not knowing what Auschwitz is and 40% didn't know 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.
Work on the memorial began in 2021 and its mockup version 4.0 completed in 2023. Extensive research went into the selections of examples, wording and images. The memorial is in the engineering phase with Sprung Monuments on Long Island and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. In 2024 we received Public Charity designation allowing us to accept donations.
The Wall of Tears purpose is to educate and make aware, both young and old, of the history of not too long ago. It remind us of the extent to which antisemitism can go if unchecked. It makes us aware of the sensitivity of those of the Jewish religion to ongoing hate and indifference. It also reminds us that many other groups and minorities have been persecuted in years past and continue to be so around the world.
It reminds us that there is no place for indifference and that we all are responsible for each other.
